Yes, I am made in the image of God, so there is me found in Him. All of me. I am not calling Him a woman, as I know how inflamed that may come across to most and He does refer to himself as He. Not everything is for our understanding anyways. And it doesn’t need to be in order to say my beautiful, feminine, nurturing, wild self is found in my Creator too.
Jess, last week I wrote you a handwritten letter that I never sent. I thought it was silly so I tossed it. But honestly I just need to tell you. You have made such a difference in my life, you probably will never know. It all started with a sandwich bread recipe and you have taught me so much since then. It’s not just about losing my fear of using cast iron (which I use almost exclusively now), making good food or becoming a better gardener. I’ve been watching your videos everyday, and you’re getting me through a dark season like only a true friend or mentor would. You’re teaching me to not be cruel to myself, to not give up on my faith, to get excited about things that matter, you’re teaching me so much about gardening. I’m so, so thankful for you. You’re one of my most precious friends, even if you don’t know that (or me). Thank you for sharing this specifically. A mother in God is such a comforting thought.
I don't even have words. I feel significantly less alone in the world after reading this. I've felt this for so many years on this journey getting to know God. Thank you for not deleting the sentence.
Jess, christianity has been following me around like a shadow for years, occasionally tapping me on the shoulder. Your words have helped me realize part of what makes me hesitate to cross the line to fully commit. They have also given me a new perspective on God and pinpointed something I’ve been feeling myself for years but also didn’t feel allowed to say. Thank you.

While I believe there is definitely a feminine side to God since we are made in His image, He is refered to as a Him throughout the Bible and I have no problem with that whatsoever. I think we have to be very careful to not take things out of context and let our feelings dictate truth.
