What a blessing to read this while also on a spontaneous road trip in the smack dab middle of garden season (what was i thinking?). Words like this remind me of why I enjoy reading. I am also reminded of why I cherish my own life, my family and my friends, and pationately pursue time in my very own gardens and orchards. Thank you! This was a sweet read.

I love it. I love it. I love it. Everything from sibling adoration and FUN (and getting away for a little while) to summertime frustration and discomfort to a very sexy line about returning home to your garden and enjoying the fruits of your labor—literally. It's yummy all the way around.

Oh Jess once again with your beautiful style of communication you have brought tears to my eyes, smiles to my face, and joy to my heart. And girl that fish is amazing! So wonderful to have such fun with your brother. Your sharing is a generous gift blessing us even from the distance. May you and yours be blessed in all y’all dream to do.

The absolute BEST PART of this is the unadulterated abandoned exhilarated joy in your face in both of these photos! This is the real Jess In-the-Present holding this bodacious mack daddy of a brown and even bigger bucketmouth after what I know was a very anxious fight with a fly rod to land without losing either. This is the I AM of Jessica Sowards! Fully living in the Present without a thought to the past or what's to come. And it's written all over your face like a billboard screaming Joy! My favorite photo with you is and will always be that hug captured in NH where you grin with your entire being. I never felt so hugged in my life and thank Kimberly Grace for capturing that moment forever. This is where you shine so brightly, Jess. And we are so grateful to share in that beaming Light!

Gardens in July are like clingy girlfriends who take revenge for neglect made me LOL. Love you and your brain and your way with words Jess. Keep on creating.

I'm taking this quote from you. Because it speaks volumes to me.

Your words always make me smile. I feel...real somehow. I think like you in many aspects. I've never had much luck at growing things, and a part of me envies your green thumb. Now fishing is another story.🙂 Keep writing. I'll keep reading. I know your words, coming from your thoughts, are often divinely inspired. ♥️

Hi Jess! I love that you had a great time with your brother. :) I wish my family had closer bonds and wasn't splintered by the past, but as we get older we grow farther apart, for sanity's sake. This year has been an odd one for my tomatoes in California. There are very few on the vine but I just pulled the first ripe Dr Wiches today. I'd never heard of that variety until you started talking about them and I fell in love. My figs are also super soft, plump and sweet. Have you ever tried the Tiger Stripe variety? It's my favorite. Green and yellow striped with a bright pink inside that's super sweet and berryish. I think you'd love them. This year I've also planted Center Cut squash for the first time. It's a winter squash but when harvested young in the summer are a great, slightly firmer and less watery substitute for zucchini. The plants, flowers, leaves and squash get massive and it's a relentless producer. I've never had squash give up so many fruit. I'm also growing Snow Leopard melon for the first time. I think you grow those too? So delicious! Well, since you said you like reading what we send you, I thought I'd write in conversation form. I hope you and your sweet family have a very blessed day! xo

Being in the now is also one of my downfalls. I am always planning ahead and forgetting to be in the now. I am also trying to get better at this and just enjoy what is happening now.

As an only child your words make me realize what I may have missed not having a sibling. I love to read your words. You are a blessing.
